But behind the images she captures lies a hidden world of pain: physical abuse, exploitation, and sex trafficking she once believed were simply the hardships every family endured.

Determined to rise above her circumstances, Valerie becomes a young mother and later enlists in the United States Army as part of the last generation of the Women’s Army Corps (WAC). Through service, faith, and a divine moment of “No more,” she begins reclaiming her life from the darkness that shadowed her early years. Told with honesty and spiritual strength, Valerie’s journey reveals how resilience, forgiveness, and the power of God can transform trauma into triumph.

Dr. Valerie A. Fletcher, born in Portland, Oregon, is a survivor of childhood trauma, physical abuse, and sex trafficking who transformed her pain into purpose. A mother from a young age and later a proud member of the last generation of the Women’s Army Corps (WAC), she discovered in photography both refuge and remembrance, using her camera to preserve the memories she once feared losing.



Through faith, resilience, and an unwavering will to rise, Valerie rebuilt her life and emerged as a compassionate, Spirit-filled woman devoted to healing, truth, and empowerment. Her journey stands as powerful proof that even the most broken beginnings can be reshaped by courage and the grace of God.
